Science Society & KLE Society’s S Nijalingappa
College plan to organise a 3-day State-level People’s Science Fest
on 17-19 Jan, 2014 to showcase the joy of science and the importance
of scientific outlook, to demonstrate ways of ‘learning science by doing’ with easily
available materials, to interact with public and create awareness on
science issues of social importance, to inculcate the culture and
ethics of science among the students, to impress upon how scientific temper
& scientific method help resolve social problems, to differentiate
real science from non-science that merely uses scientific jargon, to
understand the mutual dependence between science and society and to
disseminate the life struggles of & values espoused by great
men of science.
As
an important preparatory step towards the fest, five competitions namely essay,
speech, chart design, collage and science quiz are
being organised on 21-22 Dec, 2013 (Saturday & Sunday) for high
school and pre-university/class 11,12 students at KLE Society’s
S.Nijalingappa College, Rajajinagar (near Navrang theatre).

Entry Fee can be
paid at the venue on the day of the event. Last date for submitting entries is Wednesday,
18 Dec, 2013. Participants are requested to reach the venue at least one
hour before the start of the respective competition for registration.
The top 5
teams/students in the competitions will be given a memento and a prize along
with certificate. All participants in the competitions will get
participation certificates.
